  2. What’s an Appositive? • Tamara, my cousin, lives in Texas. • We gave money to the farmers, our friends. • My 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Wilson, taught lots of grammar. • ad + pono= to place next to

  3. How Appositives Work in Latin • In Latin, the appositive must be in the same case as the other noun. • If the noun is nominative, the appositive is nominative; if the noun is genitive, the appositive is genitive, etc.

  4. Appositive Examples • Amicummeum, Lucium, exspecto. • I am waiting for my friend, Lucius. • Nautis, amicisnostris, pecuniamdonavimus. • We gave money to the sailors, our friends.
