How Appositives Work in Latin • In Latin, the appositive must be in the same case as the other noun. • If the noun is nominative, the appositive is nominative; if the noun is genitive, the appositive is genitive, etc.
Appositive Examples • Amicummeum, Lucium, exspecto. • I am waiting for my friend, Lucius. • Nautis, amicisnostris, pecuniamdonavimus. • We gave money to the sailors, our friends.
