Do you mind my singing? • Use possessive before a gerund when you want to indicate the doer of the action. • E.g. • The kids’ singingwas too loud. • Your constantarguingis bugging me. Angela Araújo - CMF - 2012

Attention: • Informalspoken English: • A noun or na object is often used instead of a possessive. Observe: • E.g. • I can understand Hugobeing annoyed. (standard = Jonh’s) • I can’t accept themignoring me. (standard = their) Angela Araújo - CMF - 2012
