  1. Whose Mission Are We On? Who is adequate for this job?

  2. Genesis 12:1-2, 4 Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. … 4 So Abram went, as the LORD had told him and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

  4. Exodus 3:7-10 Then the LORD said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey… 9 And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

  5. Gen. 12:1-2,4- Abram, on God’s mission • Ex. 3:7-10- Moses, on God’s mission Whose mission were these people on?

John 5:36; 14:24, 10-11 … For the works that the Father has given me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bear witness about me that the Father has sent me.  … And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me. … The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

  7. Gen. 12:1-2,4- Abram, on God’s mission • Ex. 3:7-10- Moses, on God’s mission • Jn. 5; 14- Jesus, on God’s mission Whose mission were these people on?

  8. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

  16. 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ. No one is sufficient for this work
