ELA Status • DAS has signed the ELA with ESRI • ODOT is working to finalize the IAA with DAS • ELA timeframe – from now to the end of the next biennium • Can be renewed for the 11-13 biennium • Hope to sign IAA early this week • Oversight Committee will be established
ELA Features • Agreement allows ODOT to add software without having to purchase it • Today if we purchase a piece of software for $30,000 and we start paying maintenance $3,000 • In the future we will just pay the maintenance which in this case would be a savings of $30,000 • When software is added, ODOT won’t pay for maintenance until the beginning of the 11-13 biennium • If we added software today we would have paid $3,000 per year for two years (a savings of $6,000)
ELA Features • ODOT will receive a proportion of the service credits that can cover training, ESRI conference and/or developer conference registration or ESRI consultant services • We currently receive the ESRI Conference only • Can purchase additional service credits at a reduced rate • ODOT will receive additional ArcPad Licenses and we won’t have to purchase the software or pay maintenance
ELA Features • ODOTwill have two identified points of contact that will be able to contact ESRI for technical assistance • ODOT won’t have to provide helpdesk support for other agencies like we originally thought • GIS Unit Manager (Dennis Scofield) will be the point of contact to approve adding of additional software • Need and budget review
