  1. TENER, ESTAR and ANDAR in the Preterite. The verbs tener, estar, and andar have similar stem changes in the Preterite tense. They all have “uv” in the stem: TENER – to have yo tuve nosotros tuvimos tú tuviste vosotros tunisteis él/ella/ud tuvo ellos/uds tuvieron

  2. ESTAR – to be yo estuve nosotros estuvimos tú estuviste vosotros estuvisteis él/ella/ud estuvo ellos/uds estuvieron ** Notice that the Preterite of ESTAR is the same as the Preterite of TENER – with the addition of “es” at the beginning.

  3. ANDAR – to walk (not to a specific destination) yo anduve nosotros anduvimose tú anduviste vosotros anduvisteis él/ella/ud anduvo ellos/uds anduvieron
