Plane tickets • I booked a flight with Delta Airlines for about $5,000. I would leave in the evening of June 11thfrom DTW, have a layover in Georgia, and arrive at GIG on the morning of June 12th.
Hotels • I booked a room at California Othon Classic. My cost for staying 33 days would be about $18,000. My stay includeds a room with three single beds, bathroom, etc., and also breakfast.
Game tickets • In total, I will be attending 10 games: • June 12th: Brazil v. Croatia • June 18th: Spain v. Chile • June 23rd: Australia v. Spain • June 26th: USA v. Germany • June 29th • July 1st • July 4th • July 9th • July 12th • July 13th
transportation • For transportation, I rented a Toyota Yaris for 33 days. The total cost was about $2,000. I would use the car to run errands and of course to get to all the matches.
Total cost • Considering all the expenses, my total for all the money spent on the World Cup was about $29,000.
Geography • Brazil is the largest country in South America and is the 5th largest country in the world by both land area and population. The capital of Brazil is Brasilia and the largest city is Sao Paulo. Other major cities are Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. Brazil has a large eastern coastline of 7491 km (4655 mi). Brazil shares a border with all countries in South America except Chile and Ecuador. The Amazon River and 60% of the Amazon Rainforest are located in Brazil.

economy Brazil has one of the largest economies in the world. It excels in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and service. Brazil's main trade partners are China, the USA, Argentina, and Germany. Some exports from Brazil are coffee, soybeans, concentrated orange juice, and motor vehicles. Some imports Brazil receives are oil, electronics, and machinery.
climate • Brazil has five distinct climates: equatorial, tropical, sub-arid, highland tropical, and subtropical. Equatorial climate includes lots of humidity and precipitation. Tropical climate has constant temperatures and different amounts of rainfall each season. Sub-arid climate has hardy shrubs and grasses and is the halfway mark between desert and humid forest. Highland tropical has cool summers, warm winters, and constant rainfall. Subtropical is very similar to tropical but with mild to cool winters.
history • As mentioned before, Brazil has had many dictators and presidents . Captured by Portugal in 1500, Brazil finally gained independence in 1822. Sugar was the main crop produced by Brazil for a couple years, but coffee overtook it and was a great success. Brazil has a very good football (soccer) team, winning the World Cup five times. Today, Brazil has some financial struggles, but tourism is very popular.
