What is Cambridge AICE? • An international, pre-university program developed by the University of Cambridge in England • Examinations have been offered for over 50 years in more than 160 countries and 12,000 schools (including 89 HS in Florida) • AICE first offered in the US in 1995, and officially adopted in Florida in 2001

CAMBRIDGE ADVANTAGES • Flexible path to an AICE diploma • Students achieving the AICE diploma, along with 100 hours of community service, earn the top level of the Bright Futures Scholarship to any Florida University • Successfully completing the Cambridge Curriculum could provide (even more with Dual Enrollment) up to 45 hours of college credit
High School Diploma Equivalent • The only diploma programs which fulfills a State high school diploma option are those offered by Cambridge and International Baccalaureate.
AICE and Dual Enrollment East Lee County High School has a Dual Enrollment agreement with both FGCU and FSW. If a student is on track to earn their AICE diploma, they may begin taking dual enrollment classes as early as their Junior year.
What is the difference between an AS Level course and an A Level course? • Most colleges and universities both nationally and globally refer to the Cambridge AICE Program as AS and A Levels. • An AS Level course is designed to be one year of study culminating with the examination in May/June and will earn one credit toward the AICE Diploma. • An A Level course is designed to be the second of two years of study. The A Level exam earns a second credit toward the AICE Diploma. **Please note, many elite colleges require students to earn A Level scores in order for to guarantee acceptance of credit.
THE AICE DIPLOMA To receive the AICE diploma, students must pass 7 Cambridge Examinations. At least one examination must come from each of the following subject groups, along with Global Perspectives: Group A: Mathematics and Sciences Group B: Languages Group C: Arts and Humanities

Requirements for Admissions to Cambridge/A.I.C.E. Program Cumulative Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or above Grade 7/8 FSA ELA –Level 3* or above Grade 7/8 FSA Math –Level 3* or above *Level 3 students will require additional criteria – AVID. Out-of-State or Private School Candidate Requirements Cumulative Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher State or Norm Referenced test results –must meet percentile rank equitable to Level 3 *Level 3 equivalents require additional criteria Written Response to essay prompt End of year report cards from grades 6 through 8, and semester one report card from 8thgrade Copy of Student Assignment zone application receipt Application is due by February 16th
Application Procedures • Complete a student assignment application with the Lee County School Assignment office • Complete the Cambridge application and essay and return to East Lee County High School, along with your Student Assignment Receipt and latest report card, • by February 16th. http://elc.leeschools.net • If all requirements are met and your child is accepted, you will receive a written notification mailed on March 9hor an e-mail on March 9th. • Any student accepted into the AICE Cambridge program will not be officially assigned to ELCHS until an intent form is completed and returned to East Lee County High School by March 23rd.

Yes • Is there time for students to participate in clubs, sports, community service while in the Academy? Yes. Time management is the key.
