  3. UNO • Is an organization that was formed in 1945. • It has over 190 member countries. • Why it was formed? • It was formed to maintain world peace and promote respect for human rights.

  4. Convention on the Rights of the Child The Convention on the Rights of the Child recognizes each one of these practices as a violation of human rights, and obliges each government to work toward eliminating these practices within their own nation and throughout the world.

  5. EFA • Education for All is an international initiative first launched in Jomtien, Thailand in 1990 to bring the benefits of education to every citizen in every society. • In order to realize this aim, a broad coalition of national governments, cavity society, groups and development agencies such as UNESCO and World Bank committed to achieve using six specific education goals.

  6. UNESCO • Have you heard of UNESCO? • The United Nations educational scientific and cultural organization is one the organization of the UN. • Work of UNESCO • It works to ensure that everyone has access to education.

  7. Major problems faced by children in Pakistan Child labour • Some times children are forced to do work in order to support their families. This is called child labour. • Some facts: • 246 million children world wide are child laborers. • 73 million working children are less than 10 years old. • Every year 22,000 children die in work related accidents.

  8. what you can do • Educateyourself about the CRC. • Contactlocal, state, and national politicians • Write letters asking them to ratify the CRC. • Talkto your parents about the CRC. • Educate the adults in your life! • Advocate for awareness of the CRC. • Begin a social awareness/ human rights club.

  9. CONCLUSION • Human rights are basic requirements. • The basic rights of children are: • Love and care. • Education. • Entertainment • Identity • Sometimes children are forced to work. This is called child labour. • United Nations works for the rights of the people. • UNESCO works to endure that everyone has access to education.
