  2. Lord of the flies • Lord of the Flies is about a group of school boys who crash on an island and have to wait to be rescued. The boys split up into two “tribes” and that causes them more problems. They use a conch shell as a symbol of authority, the one with shell is the one who speaks.

Author William Golding • Born in Saint Columb minor in Cornwall, England in 1911 • He started writing at the age of 7 • His dad was a school teacher, mother was in the women's suffrage movement • Taught for a little while until the outbreak of WWII happened • He originally wanted to go into science • He served 5 years in the navy • In his childhood he liked to hurt people, he was a jokester • Died June 19, 1993 because of heart failure

  10. Read it! • Lord of the Flies by William Golding is an exciting tale of a group of school boys who’s plane crashes on an island. Full of adventure and suspense you wont be able to put the book down. How will the boys keep order? Will they ever get rescued? This story shows the problems that will occur if you take away adults and authority figures. How well can a group of young boys survive and stay sane on this island? How long until they themselves become beasts?
