Mentorship Program will allow experienced housing members to act as resources and guides to people beginning their housing journey Mentors can act as an additional source of guidance not only related to Housing but in other aspects of the college experience Many people getting into IRHA for the first time are also First-Year Students and this can offer a way to assist these students with the transfer to college What is this mentorship Program

What are the benefits to NRHH Mentors • This program can help build leadership within the NRHH membership • Provide valuable advice and direction that they once received • Continue their involvement within housing • NRHH/IRHA Alumni members can build friendships with new members • Mentors who successfully complete the program will be honored in Spring

  4. Benefits to the Mentees • Have someone to turn to with questions or when in need of advice • New members can look to old members for ideas and information about past projects, events, and general information • Develop leadership skills and professional relationships • Learn about NRHH and all the benefits it can entail

  5. What is new? Over the past few weeks, we analyzed the feedback from the 2011-2012 program. To consistently better ourselves and the program, we can now provide new aspects to the program that our members provided feedback about. The program is now more flexible and allows mentor/mentees to plan outings around their own schedule Successful pairs will be honored for their completion of the program The program provides more structure in its mission and goals Mentees will undergo a further introduction to housing, meet more leaders, and enjoy an overall more social experience

  6. How will we do this? The new and improved point system! Pairs are encouraged to fulfill at least the minimum points in every category. • NRHH- Learning Diamond Love(must fulfill 3) • Write an OTM with your mentee • Attend an NRHH Mentor/Mentee program together • Attend an NRHH function • Attend a NRHH meeting • Attend a NRHH community service project together • Leadership Development(must fulfill 3) • Attend an IRHA/AG meeting together • Work on an application together (for anything-AG, IRHA, RA, etc) • Interview/meet five other NRHH members • Work on resumes together • Attend a professional development session together • Social- Living Diamond Love(must fulfill 3) • Attend a housing event together • Attend a sporting event together • Go to a meal together • Study together • Take a picture doing a Gator Chomp

How to be a part of the Program MentORS MentEES Applications sent out over IRHA Listeserv/Presentation during IRHA Meeting Application include basic information and current IRHA involvement • Applications sent out over NRHH listserv/Presentation during first NRHH meeting • Application include basic information and past/current involvement

  8. timeline Applications released tomorrow, and due Septemer 24 by midnight Mentor/mentee retreat on October 7th, followed by NRHH F-book retreat • Date is now under discussion due to IRHA/SAB HHN Social Points would be due mid-February
