Subjects & Predicates. Every complete sentence has two parts: subject and predicate. The subject is the who (or what) the sentence is about. The predicate tells what the subject does. Judy and her dog run on the beach every day. EXAMPLE:. Who? What do they do?. SUBJECT.

To Find the PREDICATE: • Ask what does it do? • Find the verb (action or linking) • Draw a vertical line before the verb • The predicate is the rest of the sentence.
