  3. Some statistics • Statistics Lithuania reports that, according to the Household Survey data, possession of personalcomputers in households has notably increased over the recent years. In 2000, only one household out oftwenty had a personal computer, while in I quarter 2006 – each third. • In I quarter 2006, 37 per cent of households had personal computers at home: in urban and in rural areasthis figure made up, respectively, 47 and 18 per cent.   4. Some statistics • In I quarter 2006, the Internet was used by 32 per cent of households: in urban area – by four householdsout of ten, in rural area – by each sixth ECPRD WG ICT Meeting, Vilnius

  5. Some statistics The majority of respondents (56 per cent), who used the Internet, used it daily. Only each tenth personusing the Internet used it less frequently than once a week. Usually, the Internet was used forcommunication, search for information, reading newspapers and magazines, downloading games, imagesand music. ECPRD WG ICT Meeting, Vilnius

Some statistics In I quarter 2006, one-third (32 per cent) of Internet users used services, available on the public institution’s websites, and 24 per cent of respondents were interested in this possibility. 19 per cent ofInternet users used the Internet for filling in the Income tax declaration, 29 per cent were interested in thispossibility. Most respondents, who used online public services or were interested in this possibility, statedthat they would like to register a car, fill in documents, related with social security benefits, make anappointment to see a doctor via the Internet. Some statistics In I quarter 2006, the number of interviewed, who bought or ordered goods and services for personalneeds via the Internet, amounted to 2.5 per cent or 5.4 per cent of respondents using the Internet. The most common answer (81 per cent) to the question, why was not the Internet used for e-commerce,was that there was no need. Half (51 per cent) of respondents, who did not use the Internet for e-commerce,stated that it is more convenient to do shopping when you see the product, 18 per cent did not trust in ecommerce.   15. Assets: sources and use • In year 2006 m. to ISDC have been submitted 133 InfSo projects for State Capital Investment program (pretended to 2007-9 year State Budget Fund). Applied total needs 168,854 mln. Lt for year 2007. • The main benefit from approval procedure for IST projects – elimination of duplications, timely checking of project preparation maturity,… ECPRD WG ICT Meeting, Vilnius

Assets: sources and useEU support Implementing measures 3.3. of General Programming Document on Development of IT services and infrastructure in year 2005 there was allocated support for 41 project, (total amount of planned expenditures - 214 mln. Lt, (Contracts already signed with 41 applicant). There were allocated 2,8 mln. Lt for preparation of 23 projects. ECPRD WG ICT Meeting, Vilnius

Main activities: projects/servicesTo solve problems, related with trust • E-identity, data and person authentication, data integrity, • Access control, • E-document management and acknowledgement; • There are global problems with obstacles in mutual agreement and interoperability ECPRD WG ICT Meeting, Vilnius

Main activities: projects/servicesTo solve problems, related with trust • Lithuanian attempts to implement solution for trust, based on well defined/specified responsibility among service providers and users: • There where no ID card solutions with total/full-scale implementation, like in Estonia, Belgium, Italy… • Identification of inhabitants in Information systems is solved through e-banking systems, (using cascades of passwords and SSL connection). There are used other, not universal methods of insurance of data integrity, presented in transactions. ECPRD WG ICT Meeting, Vilnius
