We are more than auto! • Auto parts manufacturers either sell into other markets or want to diversify.
Commercialization Fund • Council received $6M from Province – created a $3.5M Commercialization Fund (balance of $2.5M held in reserve to run operations) • Targets biomaterials (e.g. biopolymers, biocomposites) • Eligible to companies only • Grants or repayable loans to a maximum of $1 million • 50% matching contributions required – where 25% can be in-kind • 60-day service guarantee
Performance Metrics • $3.7M in grant funding • leveraged more than $7.5M in cash • More than 50 products directlyfunded for commercialization • Expect grant recipients to commercialize 250 more products by March 2010 without additional Council investment by building on business case and successful technology platform
