Our goals in the coming months are twofold: • To grow the Guild - attract new members. • To start making our strategic plan happen.
Here is what we believe is important to fulfilling these two goals: • A quality monthly meeting place. Done. We have the Shriner’s booked for the next year.
A new KWG website. Done. Have a look, check it out. The strategic plan is documented there as well as a calendar of events. • Brochures. Done. Invaluable, if strategically placed. Trade shows, craft sales.
Revival of ‘skills’ night – the third Tuesday of the month. Just about done. See P7. • ‘Hands on’ right here in town. Just about done. With thanks to Andy Stevenson for stepping up when we needed him.
A great lineup of guests in the coming year. So far, awesome. Past President Frank Didomizio is in charge. Check out the website calendar for guests and dates.
Revival of Skills Night & Hands On • Allows prospective and new members to come and try turning without having to buy equipment. • Gets our senior members back into teaching and tutoring mode. Sharing their knowledge.
Facility • We have access to a small shop on Rye St. • Eight of our lathes will be set up as well as a drill press, band saw and vacuum system. • The front of the shop will be a small store selling wood for turners and carvers.
Facility • The little sales shop will be called “Turner and Carver Ltd.” • We are targeting Tuesday, October 22, 2013 for our first Skills Night. • Grand opening of the store will be early November. • Can’t thank Woodchuckers enough for their support, cooperation and knowledge.
