  2. NATIONAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM The National Measurement System is decentralized also at the level of National Standards. They are maintained by the Czech Metrology Institute (majority of them) and exceptionally by other authorized subjects - ASSOCIATED LABORATORIES.

  3. Associated laboratories complete the highest level of the traceability chain in the country in special fields where some aspects promise more efficient satisfaction of needs then establishment of relevant laboratory in the CMI. Reasons are :      Top level qualification of the laboratory is available Marginal values of the quantity are covered Number of service users is limited To utilize all available resources This solution is choosen if :

  4. Competence of the associatedlaboratory is verifiedeither by accreditation according to EN ISO/IEC 17025 standardor by an assessment executed by the CMI experts committee. The laboratory is represented by the CMI in MRA and EUROMET activities. The laboratory accepts the CMI quality system items concerning National Standards, Key Comparisons, CMC presentation and EUROMET contact persons.        

  5. Establishment of associated laboratories is based on the metrological legislation and on the authorization by the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing. Special agreement have been signed between CMI General Director and statutory bodies of associated laboratories.

CHMI CALIBRATION LABORATORY OF EMMISIONS (air quality) • accredited calibration laboratory by CAI, EN ISO/IEC 17025 • designated by the CMI as a CIPM-MRA laboratory ensures:  • air pollution monitoring and calibration of measuring instruments for SO2 , NO-NOx, CO, O3, BTX • validation of analytical procedures in the field of air pollution-ambient air monitoring.
