Passatoprossimo is a “compound tense” (consists of two words, components) the auxiliary verb the past participle GENERAL RULE -are -> -ato -ere -> -uto -ire -> -ito IRREGULARS • avere (most cases, all transitive verbs) • essere (mostly movement)
