Regional seminars 2012, 2013«Applying the concept of IWRM in Central Asia - the current practice and promotion»with the participants from all the five countries, including German partners Publication edition of the seminar results • + GKU, CAREC • Demonstrating the interrelations of economic, environmental, social issues in IWRM • Innovations in data collection and processing, modeling tools for planning and managing water resources. • Demonstration of modeling with the use of PC World Bank seminar 2014
Objectives: • Competence development in the use of e-learning in IWRM • Cooperation building between CA and BA in IWRM • Gaining experience in online communication • Experience and information exchange among the participants of the project E-learning in the field of IWRM
EDUCATION CHALLENGES IN IWRM IN CENTRAL ASIA - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - • The need to promote additional education after receiving a bachelor degree • Too narrow specialization (technical, agricultural, engineering) • The necessity and possibility of establishing distance learning, which will strengthen students' practical experience if it works • Introducing students to the partner organizations (GIZ, CAREC etc.), which has a positive impact on their thesis writing • Field works • Work practice up to 3 months; the possibility to do an internship in Germany is being developed
