RESEARCH OBJECTIVES • To study about backpackers’ needs and preferences • To study the difference between backpackers’ satisfaction and importance of among selected destination attributes • To study relationship between the selected destination attributes and the overall satisfaction of backpackers • To study the influence of backpacker demographic to selected destinations attributes that backpackers choose • To study the influenceof travel behavior to selected destinations attributes that backpackers choose

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY • Correlational study • Sampling procedure: purposivesampling method, n= 250 • Period collecting data: May – June 2014 • Method analysis : Paired t-Test, Linear Regression, Independent t-Test, one-way ANOVA • SPSS Version 21 as a tools to process data
CONCLUSION • There were only 2 attributes that satisfying the backpackers which are “museums” and “access to hotel”, and the rest still lower than their perception. The significant different were “public transportations” and “service & amenities” which have high mean difference. • The results indicated that attraction, activities, and accommodations dimensions have a significant relationship with the overall satisfaction of backpackers. • Age was significantly influence the destination attributes, while gender, education, nationality, and income were not significantly influence. • Length of stay and membership in group were significantly influence the destination attributes, while past experience and advance plan were not significantly influenced.
IMPLICATIONS • Firstly, the things that can be importantly considered by the local government as the policy maker to develop the tourism especially at JalanJaksa. They should focus more on maintaining or improving factors that contribute to tourists’ overall satisfaction. • The study will provide some insights that may help the entrepreneurs to develop specific promotional strategies within JalanJaksa to maintain or enhance their competitiveness. • To conclude, in order to create effective marketing strategies for products and services in the cultural/heritage tourism market, a better understanding of tourists who visit to the cultural/heritage destinations is necessary.
Recommendation for Future Study AND LIMITATION Recommendations for Future Study: • This study probably can be implemented in others area with different sampling and in different case • Future study can investigate the relationship between tourists’ satisfaction and intention to revisit a destination Limitations: • The study did not conduct pre and post evaluation of the attributesbut relied on data that collected at one point in time • The respondents only foreign backpacker.
