Western Hemisphere Operations • Joint Counter drug operations under JIATF-South • Support SOUTHCOM Annual UNITAS exercises with South American naval forces • Theater Security Cooperation for SOUTHCOM around Caribbean • Unique Caribbean Support Tender ops • USCG direct engagement with Caribbean Island nations to build stronger Search and Rescue, Counter Drug Ops, and Law Enforcement capabilities of partner nation forces

Operations around the U.S. • National Strategy for Maritime Security • Overlapping responsibilities with US NORTHCOM – HLD/HLS requires close relationship • Protect high value naval assets and reinforcement/ sustainment supplies for Iraqi operations transiting through US ports. • Selected Joint Harbor Operations Centers with USN • Intelligence sharing/analysis – co-located facilities/solid relationships • Emerging Counter-Terrorism capability
