  1. ONLINE SCHEDULER – 5 DIFFERENT TYPES OF EMPLOYEE WORK SCHEDULES Employee work schedules are very important to a business. For starters, effectively scheduling employees helps add order and flow to a business. Everybody knows where and when they are supposed to work, and this allows them to focus on their jobs. Proper scheduling, which can easily be achieved through an online scheduler, ensures that all tasks are covered at their appropriate times. Online scheduling also allows the manager to determine how effectively tasks are accomplished and by whom. He or she can team up employees of equal strength, or pair a superior employee with a weaker one. Another benefit of online employee scheduling is that it makes it easy for the manager to schedule employees weeks or even months in advance. There are various types of employee work schedules, all of which vary on the job or the organization. The kind of schedule required for a particular job is usually listed in the job posting, though it is always wise to confirm with the employer before accepting a job offer. Below are different types of work schedules: 1.Fixed work schedules A fixed work schedule, just like the name suggests, can be described as a timetable that is generally made up of the same number of days and hours worked every week. This kind of schedule tends to remain consistent for a long time once the employer and the employees have reached an agreement regarding the ideal number of days and hours. A perfect example of a fixed schedule would be from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm. Another example would be Wednesday to Monday, from 4pm to 12am. Due to their consistency, such schedules can automatically be created and distributed via an online scheduler to save time and effort.

  2. 2.Flexible work schedules A flexible work schedule is also another type of work schedule that be created and distributed through an online shift planner. Flexible work schedules are not as rigid as fixed schedules, and employers and employees both work together to settle on the number of days and hours to be committed to. Depending on company policy, employees may be required to commit to a minimum number of hours, or to be on duty at a particular daily block of time. However, shifts may regularly be switched with fellow employees so as to satisfy the needs of both parties (employer and employees). Online employee scheduling not only allows flexible schedules to be distributed online, it also allows shift swaps and switches to be done online through a shift planner application or an online scheduler. Flexible work schedules may also vary infinitely, but an example may look something like this: Monday 8am – 11.30 am, Tuesday 10 am -3pm, Saturday 2pm to close. 3.Full-time work schedules

  3. A full-time work schedule usually calls for a commitment of 37-40 hours a week. Due to the long hours, most full-time employees are eligible for some benefits. Such benefits may include vacation and sickness plans, leave, health insurance, and so on. Full-time schedules may vary from organization to organization, but the shifts are usually the same. A perfect example of a full-time schedule is 9am -5pm from Monday to Friday, totaling to 40 hours. 4.Part-time work schedules A part-time work schedule is a schedule that involves fewer hours than a full-time schedule. This kind of schedule allows greater flexibility and leaves employees with time to engage in other things outside of work. An example of a part time work schedule could be Tuesday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 pm and Saturday from 12:00 pm - 8:00 PM. 5.Rotating work schedules A rotating work schedule cycles employees through different shifts such as day shifts, swing shifts and night shifts. This cycle helps to distribute different talents and employees throughout different shifts. Hours can cycle between day shifts 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, swing shifts 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, and weekend, or overnight shifts. Rotating work schedules are not as common as other schedules but they are popular in careers that operate 24-7 such as hospitals, military, power plants, and so on. With a rotating schedule, employees might find it a bit difficult to adapt to new sleeping and eating patterns. On the other hand, a rotating schedule enables employees to spend quality time with family. Other common features of online scheduling software that makes employee scheduling easier and more effective include the following: tracking labor costs monitoring employee availability curbing scheduling conflicts

  4. easing communication Summary Whether you are self-employed, you work from home, or you work in the office, the importance of maintaining a consistent work schedule cannot be underestimated.
