  1. Warm Up • Do you believe people living in the United States have a good quality of life (are happy with the way they are living)? Why or why not? • How do you believe we can improve quality of life in the United States?

  5. China • Natural Resources: coal, iron ore, petroleum, natural gas, mercury, tin, tungsten, antimony, manganese, molybdenum, vanadium, magnetite, aluminum, lead, zinc, rare earth elements, uranium, hydropower potential (world's largest)

  7. India • Climate: varies from tropical monsoon in south to temperate in north

  8. India • Terrain: upland plain (Deccan Plateau) in south, flat to rolling plain along the Ganges, deserts in west, Himalayas in north

  9. India • Natural Resources: coal (fourth-largest reserves in the world), iron ore, manganese, mica, bauxite, rare earth elements, titanium ore, chromite, natural gas, diamonds, petroleum, limestone, arable land
