  2. Christmas TUNES…Parodies IDEAS for Christmas Cheer Let’s have some laughs with parodies for all of us to hear! Christmas TUNES… Parodies Some fresh IDEAS we’ll bring Let’s entertain and have some FUN and hear each other sing! ….and another!

  3. T’wasthe Week Before Holidays and all through English class…

  4. We wrote parodies for “IDEAS” on mass

  5. But what to Samaddar’s ears should be surprisingly heard But giggles and jabs and lots of the absurd

  6. In teams students worked to write without worry To see who’d come up with ideas in a flurry

  7. For showtime’s this Friday to present what we write Happy presentations to all! May they be “of sight”!

No “One-Size-Fits-All” Way to Do This! • Pick a familiar Christmas Song • Stay true the original lyrics • The better the audience knows the lyrics of the original song, the more they can appreciate your humour • Parody lyrics should be easy to sing • Lyrics should have a “message” and of course, be appropriate

  9. When writing, you need to be careful to countsyllables and watch for awkward accents caused by certain placements of lyrics. • Start from the complete original lyrics. (Jingle Bells / Deck the Halls provided) or print off your team’s favourite tune • Consider www.rhymezone.com (RHYMEZONE - a rhyming dictionary)

  10. 6+1 Traits • Ideas (entertaining/humorous/makes sense) • Word Choice & Voice (humorous, fun, matches original lyrics) • Organization & Sentence Fluency (rhythm matches original lyrics) • Presentation - Project/Clarity/Sung to the original tune. Some creative “fresh” aspect?
