Proposed Schedule Changes IAFF Local F-25
Disclaimer • This presentation is for information, it is presented to educate members of the department regarding the proposed schedule. • This only gives a basic over view of the proposal and effects to the membership. • Thanks to our brothers and sister from F-33 for allowing us to use Their power point.
Introduction This power points presents proposed schedule change for the 2on – 3off – 2on – 2off – 2on – 3off
The 2 on / 3 off • Also identified as: 2on – 3off • Schedule involves working 48 hour shift, with a rotating 48 or 72 hours off.
The 2 on / 3 off good or bad • Increased consecutive days at home with family. • Same personal assigned to each engine company. • There are no longer an A & B shifts. • Crew consistency maybe be affected by this proposed schedule.
2 on and 3 off cont • RDO changes: understand that the proposed schedules are set ‘by-engine company”, so if a member would transfer between stations, they may be re-assigned a different RDO than they had at their previous assigned station. • However, every effort can be made to maintain a persons RDO when transferring between stations within battalion. There are set Captain, Engineers, Paramedics RDO’s on each company that would effect a persons RDO selection. • The intent of this schedule is to maintain current RDO, how ever that may not be possible in all cases, and will be addressed as staffing requirements.
Daily Operations and Management • Annual Leave - scheduled following the normal LEAVE policies. • Over Time policies should not change.
Daily Operations and Management cont. • Every shift is a 48 hour block • Mandatory OT is not changed on how we do it. • Sick leave policy is not changed.
Other Considerations • Captain = two assigned per crew / assign opposite of each other • Engineer = two assigned per crew / assign opposite of each other
