Trial • Paying you a fair price is called Eminent Domain. • Prevent your from being kept in jail to long waiting for trial. trial can not be held in secret. • You can give rebuttal (argue against) any testimony against you. • Any person may be obligated to appear in court to testify. • Lawyer (attorney or counsel)
Where parties contest private matters (where 1 person sues another for damages) • A “plaintiff” is the party hurt (or wronged), the “defendant” is the party being held accountable. • Government • Security $ you (or a bail bondsman) puts up to release you from jail before your trial to “back up” your promise to appear.
