Facts☺ •It is the second most common disease in the world. •Over 38.6 million people were infected with HIV in 2005. •It takes a few weeks for virus to start destroying antibodies, so the host can spread the viris without knowing he/she has it. •Sexually transmitted or by any contact with body fluid from the host. •Can't be diagnosed, only prevented by abstinance. •Most victims are African and from ages 18-24.
Demographics •Originated from monkeys in Africa
•More than 25 million people have died of AIDS since 1981. •Africa has over 14 million AIDS orphans. •At the end of 2008, statstics read that women were 50% of all the infected adults.
Symptoms? If any symptoms occur, these are it: •Fever •Weight loss •Mouth sores •Mouth thrush •Sores in the esophagus •Myalgia •Liver & spleen enlargement •Rashes •Nausea •Vomiting
Treatment Incurable. But, antibiotics can be used to treat the sympoms.
Mortality Rate About 2.6 million people die from HIVs every year. That's alot. 2,600,000.
Complications When the HIV virus has killed all antibodies, the human body is vulnerable to all diseases, and that is what kills the host.
No Vaccine? There is no cure. There is no vaccine.
