The development process • Initial requirements converted to detailed “user stories” and wireframes • Development and QA of individual stories and release for user testing and sign-off • Daily project meetings during development • Final signoff of test site • Content migration/population • Go Live
Marketing Activities • Activities scheduled to coincide with the website launch, aimed at driving traffic and encouraging new registrants on the site include: • E-mail campaigns to: • Current BJS.co.uk enewsletter registrants (1,000) • Additional conference delegates who registered to receive BJS updates (150) • Contacts with a registered interest in surgery from the Wiley-Blackwell internal database (14,750) • Affiliated society members – TBC • Purchased lists of contacts from Thomson Reuters – if necessary • Banner adverts on the BJS and surgery subject pages on Wiley Online Library • Print advert to appear within BJS and other surgery journals published by Wiley-Blackwell* • Demo as part of the BJS Symposium at ASGBI 2011 • New registrants will receive: • 3 months free access to BJS content, via the website • Opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win one of three iPads, upon completion of a survey • Regular promotion throughout 2011: • BJS e-mails • Surgery enewsletters • Conference displays *approval will need to be obtained from the journal editors and, if appropriate, the owning society
