Think about your interests, gifts, and talents, and the job that will allow you to best use them--find out what training, certificate, or degree is necessary to qualify for that job and then go for it!

How To Figure Class Rank Class rank is determined by adding all semester grades and extra points for advanced courses together and then dividing by the total number of semesters. A student earns five extra points for each PAP/PAP semester and earns 10 extra points for each AP/IB semester. Although added in for ranking purposes the extra points will not appear on the report card, the transcript or any other document. Class Rank is weighted.

Calculating Grade Point Average The student’s Grade Point Average is calculated at the end of each semester and is cumulative throughout the student’s time at Lee High School. GPA is calculated by assigning a number to each semester grade. A (90-100)=4 ; B (80-89)=3 ; C (70-79)= 2 ; F (69 and below)=0. The numbers ( 4,3,2,0) are added together and then divided by the number of semesters. • The GPA is not weighted.

Dual Credit Dual Credit: (you will be both a REL and a TJC student) • Complete a TJC application • Obtain counselor approval (form) • Meet all testing requirements (ACCUPLACER) • Pay TJC tuition • Earn college credit at the end of each semester
Advanced Placement (AP) AP Courses: • Sign up for the AP course. • In the Spring register and pay to take the AP exams. • Test in May. • Receive scores in July. • Scores of 3, 4, or 5 usually award college credit. • Each college will have different requirements.

Art classes are a “blend” of actually doing art exercises and projects, learning principles and elements through reading, research, writing, vocabulary and test taking.New for next year: AP Art History.Theater Appreciation (do not like to be on stage), Theater (like to be on stage. Technical Theater 1 requires credit for Theater 1.Choir: There are various opportunities and levels for students who love to sing. Orchestra or Band-Directors will send counselors correct placement after auditions.Dance or Drill Team-*Drill Team-tryout only (Junior and Senior year). Fees required. FineArts
AthleticsAthletics -must be currently participating in the sport you are choosing or have coach’s approval. Must commit to athletics for the year: rigorous practice and preparation; rigorous competition. Some sports actually begin before school begins so check with the coach of your sport. If you are not committed you will be dropped which means a schedule change and being placed in courses that you did not choose. Coaches determine JV or Varsity level placement. A physical is required to participate.

…Change your schedule after the bell rings the last day of school. Exception: A course you chose is not offered. In this case an alternate course will be substituted so make sure you choose alternates!
