Professional Development Seminar (PDS) Release Day • 22 Wednesdays throughout the school year. • During PDS students are to be in the following area: • Cafeteria – Quiet study (Attendance make up or serving detentions) • Library – 40 students with academic passes only • Gym 3 – select number of students • Leaving campus, must follow the normal procedures

  11. Responsibilities • You are to arrive in your selected area by 1:40 and stay the entire time. • Cannot meet with teachers other than those teachers who are assigned to one of the four previous mentioned areas. • School Rules still apply

Advisory on PDS Days • 7 Wednesday’s are designated as Advisory time • Students in 9 through 11th grades will meet with their advisor during the following: TODAY and the below dates: • Sep 17 Nov 12 Dec 10 • Jan 14 Feb 11 Apr 22 • Advisory is the 8th hour on your schedule. Today’s topic will be the summer reading assignment • Check your Lindbergh email account for an email from Mrs. Madrid with your Advisory teacher and room number/location • OR.. Check the list posted on the bulletin boards across from the 12th grade office for your advisor and room/location

Alcohol & Drug Incident Consequences • Minimum 60 days of Suspension from class attendance (potential expulsion) • Cannot participate in any sport, club or other school activity • Cannot attend any school function, including home and away events • Cannot be present on any district property (trespassing) • Referral to authorities for criminal prosecution

  14. Electronic CigarettesE-Cigs • Possession and or use is an infraction • You will be suspended

Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying • Degrading words and/or actions which fail to respect another person’s dignity • Comments about age, sex, race, religion, ethnicity and appearance • Sexual name-calling, gestures, jokes, slurs and spreading of rumors • Includes electronic forms of harassment

  21. 1 counselor : 500+ students • Oversee the entire Sophomore Class. • Please seek me out (problems, questions, suggestions). • Philosophy: “Student Advocate” – discuss any type of issue/concern; family, friends, classes, teachers, etc. • If I am not available: Great team of counselors (fully qualified) plus a crisis intervention counselor & a college/career counselor.

A+ Program = Free tuition to any Missouri Community College • Tutoring Hours – 50 (Can begin this year as a sophomore) schedule with Mrs. Koller, 9th Grade office, (300 bldg.) • GPA – 2.5 or better (non-weighted) • Attendance – 95% or better • Must score advanced or proficient on Algebra 1 End Of Course (EOC) • Good Citizenship – No long-term suspension • Contacts: Ms. Debbie Koller Ext 1641 and Mr. Ryan Sherp, Ext 1640

Success = Communication • Students should advocate for themselves. • Communicate with your teachers . • When your teachers are informed – they are able to give more support and guidance. • Grades are crucial in planning your future. • Poor grades now can impact college admissions when you are a senior
