College Admission Requirements • Identify the Major you are wanting • Find a College that offers that Major • Take Entrance Exams – SAT, ACT, and/or TSI • Send scores to Colleges • Complete the College Application by Deadlines • Complete any of the following that is needed by the College • Letters of Recommendations • College Essay • Send your high school transcript • Complete FAFSA • Check your Email!!!

Email • Make sure your and your parents email is correct in Skyward! • District email address: • Go to portal.office.com • Enter your Student Email address (student ID# followed by @student.ems-isd.net) in the Username field • Passwords will vary. Information will be given during sign-up process. • Great idea to add this to your phone so you will get emails directly to you with out having another place to login!!

Free Application for Federal Student Aid • Opens October 1st • https://fafsa.ed.gov • NEVER PAY TO FILL OUT THE FAFSA – ITS FREE! • If you need help • use the Frequently Asked Question on the Website first • Counselors can try to assist you but its very difficult for us to help you as there is a lot of personal information your parents have to provide! • Super Saturday • CONTACT YOUR COLLEGE OF INTEREST FINACIAL AID DEPARTMENT!!!!

  13. ASVAB • October 19th • Seniors will be taking the ASVAB • YOU CAN OPT OUT OF THE MILITARY CONTACTIN YOU!!! • Great way to find out your Aptitudes and Abilities

TCC Connect • October 12th or 14th in your English Classes • Might decide to take classes at TCC during summer even if going to different college!! • AND you may need the TSI scores for admissions at other colleges!  By signing up you can take the TSI again FREE here at SHS!! • SOMETIMES our plans don’t always work out and it’s SMART to have options!!!
