  3. How to Get Started • Go to delicious.com to sign up for a FREE website. • Click on the green button that says JOIN.

  4. Register- username • Type in your first name and last name. • Type in your school e-mail. • Choose a username and check to see if it is available.

  5. Register- password • Read the password requirements and choose password. • Write down your user name and password so you can find it later when you need it. • username____________________ • password_____________________

  6. Complete Registration • Type in the security code. This is case sensitive. • Click in the agreement box. • Click on register. • Some people will receive a notice that says they are missing fields. Still having trouble? Raise your hand for help. • Once you have successfully registered, write down the URL address for your site. • http://delicious.com/________________

  7. Add buttons to your browser • Click on step 2, install buttons, to add buttons to your browser. • Scroll down and click on Safari. • Drag the blue words My Delicious and Save to Delicious up to your toolbar. Ask for help if you are having trouble. • Click on your new Save to Delicious button. Save this site for later use.  This webpage includes instructions for adding "delicious buttons" for use with different browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera.

  8. Tag a Site • Click on you’re My Delicious button. So far there is one bookmark on your page. • Since you are not working on your own desktop, type in ”starfall.com" and we will search this site for good links related to education. • Click on your newly created Save to Delicious button.  Add notes and a tag.

  9. Did it work? • Go back to your toolbar and and click on the words My Delicious. • You will see your new bookmark listed on the left and the tag or tags on the right column. • Practice using the edit and delete buttons.

  10. Sign in • Sign out of your delicious site • Click on the My Delicious button at the top and there will appear a prompt for you to sign in • Practice signing in using your user name and password. • You should see your own delicious page with options to edit and delete.

  11. Network parkerroad • Click on the My Deliciousbutton and find the word network on your delicious homepage. • Click on “Add a user to network”. • Type parkerroad (all one word) into the box and click add. • You can always delete these later.

  12. Network a colleague • Ask a colleague to share his or her username with you so you can network him or her onto your delicious site. • Type in your colleagues username and see what he or she has bookmarked.

  13. FFSD delicious • Add FFSD to your delicious network if you would like to be connected to other people in the district http://delicious.com/FFSD • This will act as a porthole for accessing any school or teacher’s delicious site within the district. • Ellen Schmitt’s email: eschmitt@fergflor.k12.mo.us

  14. Now what? • Set yourself up for your next lab time. • At your home school, bookmark your delicious url onto each student’s desktop for easy access. • Before using delicious with students, tag a few good sites using the tag “lab”, “your last name”, or “room number” • When you go to the lab, your students will find this tab and go directly to the few site/s you want them to use for that day or week. • Empty your “tab” and refill it with great sites for the next lab time.
