  2. What is it? • An online service created to save and share bookmarks • A personal management system that allows you to collect and store information. • A way to organize information found on the web and shares it within its social community.

  3. Where do you find it? • You can access it from any internet supported device anywhere at anytime • Internet sites such as: • Diigo • Del.icio.us • Reddit • Furl

  4. Who uses it? • Educators wanting to store research from the web / Also wanting help, opinions, and fresh ideas from other educators • Students within a group project that can share their research results with their fellow classmates • Everyday people wanted to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and advances

  5. How do you use it? • You must create an account with Diigo, Del.icio.us, or any social bookmarking site of your choosing • You then are directed into your “library” where all your collected data is stored • You explore and research your chosen topics • If you desire to save certain information or a website, you “tag” it into your personal library for easy access (you can chose to tag it private or public) Note: the quickest way to “tag” or “bookmark” a website is to install the toolbar which allows you to simply click to save but is not necessary

  6. What is it used for? • For learning social media • For quick reference anywhere at anytime • Sharing bookmarks with others • Compiling idea lists • Organization • Save things that inspire you (without using memory on your own computer)

How can this be used in Education? • Educators use it to save research found on the internet • A professor could save readings for a class • Educators could assign group projects with student’s sharing their research with the group. • Teachers use it to find helpful ways and resources from other educators

  8. Why would you use it? • Save time while doing research • Don’t have to store information on my PC anymore that takes up memory • Find other people with similar likes and interest • To be more organized • To see what’s new and exciting among the site’s users
