  3. Why Are Goals Important? Goals are an important part of growing up. They give you a sense of purpose and direction. When you accomplish goals your self-esteem grows. Setting Healthy Goals

  4. Examining Your Values Your values influence the goals you set. A value is an important belief. Think about your values when you set goals. Your personal values develop over time and are based on your experiences. Not everyone has the same values, although there are some values most people believe in. Setting Healthy Goals

  5. Defining Your Interests You also have interests. An interest is something that you enjoy and want to learn more about. You can have an interest in things such as art, athletics, music, or science. Your interests influence your goals. Interests can change rapidly. Your interests reflect your personality and tastes.   6. Short-Term Goals and Long-Term Goals Short-term goals are tasks that you can accomplish in hours, days, or weeks. Long-term goals may take months or even years to reach. Setting Healthy Goals

  7. Goals Build Healthy Relationships Goals not only help you in your activities and at school but also can help you build healthy relationships.
