Torus connectors are a subsea connector family that can be actuated hydraulically or mechanically. The connectors are used in a variety of applications such as subsea tree, tubing head, riser, jumper, and flowline. Torus connectors are available in bore sizes ranging from 4" to 30", with internal pressure capacities ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 psi. Bending capacities of the larger connectors can reach 10 million ft-lbs. • The patented Loc-Torus Connectorby Reel Power OG is a versatile replacement for standard torus style OEM connectors. The Reel Power OG patented "lock over centre" design is ideal for multiple use applications where greater reliability and functionality are required, particularly in today's cost-conscious marketplace. • The operator was considered when designing the Reel Power OG Loc-Torus hydraulic connector. It not only matches the versatility of other Torus style connectors in a variety of applications such as subsea tree, Jumper, riser, tubing head, and flowline applications, but it also adds greater reliability by utilising our patented “lock over-center” design.
The connector ensures a secure connection at the wellhead, and the “lock-over-center” design ensures that the dogs are operated uniformly into the engaged and disengaged positions, similar to the effect of a light switch. Because of its ability to perform multiple locks/unlock actuations, the connector was designed to fit standard subsea wellheads with 10K/15K psi pressure ratings, standard wellhead hub or mandrel profiles, and for use in multiple aftermarket applications. • A visual lock indicator rod give feedback to a ROV that the connector is locked. Flow zone components are designed for maximum erosion and corrosion resistance, lowering maintenance and replacement costs significantly.
