Olmert government is stunned - Debkafile January 9 Event Sunday night Jan 8, US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice discussed the forthcoming Palestinian elections to the legislative council on the telephone with Palestinian Authority chairman Abu Mazen. Jerusalem was not briefed, DEBKAfile’s political sources report. Twelve hours later, the US consul in Jerusalem Jacob Walles visited Abu Mazen’s office in Ramallah with an oral message from President George W. Bush. According to our sources, it was a presidential guarantee that all the Palestinian parties running for election on Jan 25 would be allowed to campaign openly in East Jerusalem. The Israeli government was not informed of the extraordinary step taken by Bush over its head and in respect of Israeli sovereign territory. The step has some disturbing implications: 1. The Bush administration took advantage of Ehud Olmert’s having been less than a week in the job of acting prime minister and treated his reluctance to undertake firm decisions - as long as prime minister Ariel Sharon’s condition was uncertain -as a leadership vacuum in Jerusalem. 2. Olmert’s failure to come down decisively on the Jerusalem issue has a serious consequence: Washington’s intercession enables the terrorist Hamas group to fly its green flags and hold rallies on Temple Mount with its standard calls for jihad against Israel, as well as piling its voter slips at Israeli government post offices as an option for the Palestinian voter. By this device, the backhanded recognition of a Palestinian terrorist organization sworn to destroy the Jewish state has been thrust down the interim government’s throat. Governing circles in Jerusalem were stunned by the White House action.

Comment Last week we mentioned in the WWW that on the day that Israel was thrown into turmoil with the events surrounding Ariel Sharon, the Roman Catholic Church made a statement over Jerusalem saying that the Jewish people cannot be trusted to exercise control over it. Now we find out that during this week President Bush himself has intervened over Jerusalem as well. He has guaranteed the Palestinian leader Abu Mazen that the ALL Palestinians can campaign openly in east Jerusalem in the run up to the Palestinian elections on the 25th January. As the article stated “The Israeli government was not informed of the extraordinary step taken by Bush over its head and in respect of Israeli sovereign territory.” Israel had said that Palestinians could not vote in East Jerusalem if Hamas took part. Hamas publicly advocates the destruction of Israel, and has been responsible for hundreds of attacks against Israelis. Israel hasn't prevented Hamas from participating in municipal elections but Jerusalem is uniquely sensitive. President Bush’s intervention, allowing Hamas to campaign in Jerusalem, is in effect permitting a terrorist group that calls for the destruction of Israel to campaign publicly in the capital of the very country they want destroyed - in God’s Holy City. We can understand why therefore the government of Israel was stunned by President Bush’s intervention. Jerusalem is becoming a burdensome stone. President Bush has burdened himself with it. His fate is decreed below – a decree that applies to any others who try to move it. UK navy too small to defend us Headline Navy too small to defend us, warns First Sea Lord Headline - DT January 15 Event Cuts to the Royal Navy's fleet of warships will render it incapable of protecting Britain's coastline, ministers have been warned. Admiral Sir Alan West, the First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff, said any further reduction in the number of battleships could be fatal to the fleet's future. The admiral, who is due to retire next month, said : "I don't think anything should ever be sacred but we do have to be careful that we do not reduce the Navy to a level that makes recovery difficult. It takes a long time to build up a maritime force that can cope with both the expected and the unexpected. The UK's security depends on having the right range of maritime capabilities." Comment Tarshish is Britain. Tarshish is mentioned 21 times in the Bible. 9 times ships are mentioned in the same verse as Tarshish. The phrase “ships of Tarshish” occurs 7 times. Tarshish is a maritime power. It traded with the Phoenicians for tin, lead, iron and silver. (See Ezekiel 27:12) Britain traded with the Phoenicians for these metals. 4 times Tarshish is mentioned with the word “isles” or “isle”. An isle, is an island or maritime country. Britain is both. We are told in Isaiah 60:9 that Tarshish's ships would be involved in bringing the Jews back to their land. Britain’s ships were involved in this. However, we also read that in the end Tarshish will fail. Judgement is coming on Tarshish from God. See the verse below.. The fact the Britain’s ship numbers are reducing may contribute to this. As diplomats began a campaign to raise support for reporting Iran to the UN Security Council, Moscow held out the prospect of talks with Teheran on a Russian compromise deal. Sergei Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, also warned the West of the dangers of imposing UN sanctions on Iran. "We remember the history of sanctions against Iraq and know how it all ended," he said. "We are still overcoming the consequences." Comment Events are beginning to come to a head with Iran. Cracks are widening between the permanent members of the Security Council. Britain above is warning Russia not to be fooled. Russia warns “the West” about imposing sanctions on Iran – citing the corruption that took place with Iraqi sanctions. Russia here is acting out the role prescribed for this nation by God in extremely accurate detail. God says in Ezekiel 38 that Russia would act as a “guard” to the nations that invade Israel with her. A guard is a protector, a defence, a wall. Russia, by defending Iran is acting therefore exactly as God said they would. Britain in contrast is Tarshish mentioned in verse 13 of the same chapter. Tarshish (Britain) questions the invasion of Israel by Russia, Iran and other nations. It backed claims made in a Russian TV report which showed footage of what it said was British agents retrieving data from a fake rock planted on a street. The programme also said a UK diplomat made regular payments to Russian non-governmental organisations. The UK Foreign Office said it was "concerned and surprised", and denied any improper conduct. Prime Minister Tony Blair has refused to comment on the Russian claims. During his monthly news conference on Monday he appeared to try to laugh them off, saying: "Look I only saw myself on Teletext this morning, the business about Russia.” Comment More Cold War developments. The Russian bear is growling. But what does Britain do? Britain laughs nervously. With Bible in hand we know the direction that Russia is taking and will take in the future. US military at breaking point Headline US military 'at breaking point‘ Headline BBC online January 26 Event The US military has become dangerously overstretched because of the scale of its operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, two reports have warned. One, by former officials in the Clinton administration, said the pressure of repeated deployments was very corrosive and could have long-term effects. The second, ordered by the Pentagon and yet to be released, reportedly calls the army "stretched to breaking point". About 138,000 US troops remain in Iraq, on top of deployments to Afghanistan and Kosovo. Comment The US is under pressure. It is in effect fighting 2 wars. One in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. Britain is also under pressure. It announced this week that it is preparing to send another 3,500 troops to Afghanistan. This is a major deployment for the UK and there is talk within the army of things becoming extremely over stretched. In the final war over Israel we know that Russia and its allies will in fact overrun Israel and sweep through into Egypt. Two thirds living in Israel will be killed. Britain and her “young lions” will not be able to prevent this from happening as they did in World War 1 and World War 2. The overstretched situation therefore may still be there when the final invasion takes place. The old lion (Britain) the her young lions (USA, Australia etc) will be broken. US & Europe at odds over Hamas Headline US & Europe at odds as Israel cuts Palestinian funds Headline – DT January 31 Event Israel cut off funds to the Palestinian Authority yesterday, as Hamas rejected a chorus of international demands that it renounce violence and recognise the Jewish state. The Israeli move came as America and Europe appeared at odds over how to respond to the election victory of Hamas in last week's Palestinian elections. Differences between the EU and American positions were betrayed earlier when the EU adopted a much softer position than the US, apparently waiting to see what kind of Palestinian government would be established. Comment It all eventually will boil (and is boiling) down to this…. Is it a nation that backs the Palestinian / Arab cause – or is it a nation that backs the Israel / Jewish cause. This is the fault line of the whole world. When it comes to it, almost all nations will back Arab over Jew. The exceptions are Tarshish (Britain) and her young lions (US, Canada, Australia, India etc). Europe (both political and religious) will back the Arab. Russia and her allies (including Iran, Libya and northern Africa) will also back the Arab. This may seem strange when Europe appears to be stirring up hatred amongst its Muslim population. However, Europe and Muslim will be united in their hatred of God’s people the Jews when the final great war eventually begins.. US prepares military blitz on Iran Headline US prepares military blitz against Iran's nuclear sites Headline – Sunday Telegraph February 12 Event Strategists at the Pentagon are drawing up plans for devastating bombing raids backed by submarine-launched ballistic missile attacks against Iran's nuclear sites as a "last resort" to block Teheran's efforts to develop an atomic bomb. Central Command and Strategic Command planners are identifying targets, assessing weapon-loads and working on logistics for an operation, the Sunday Telegraph has learnt. "This is more than just the standard military contingency assessment," said a senior Pentagon adviser. "This has taken on much greater urgency in recent months.“ The prospect of military action could put Washington at odds with Britain which fears that an attack would spark violence across the Middle East. Comment The tension is mounting quickly now between Iran and the USA. Reports are emerging of a developing military plan to attack Iran’s nuclear sites. The difficulty is that this time Britain is a long way from backing America on this. The UK has not recovered from the “dossier” produced by Tony Blair which said categorically that Saddam Hussein had chemical weapons etc. The other issue the USA has is over troop numbers – it is extremely (even dangerously) overstretched. Its only solution really is the one above – a missile strike. The Bible makes absolutely clear that Iran is one of the nations that does invade Israel. Therefore, as Iran has to do this, there is a possibility that no military invasion ever does take place against them. Blair – God will judge me on Iraq Headline Blair: God will judge me on Iraq Headline DT March 4 Event Tony Blair believes he will be judged by God and history on whether he did the "right thing" in taking Britain to war against Iraq three years ago. Interviewed by Michael Parkinson, Mr Blair said he "struggled" with his conscience over the decision to join the US-led invasion. More than 100 British servicemen, as well as thousands of Iraqis have died in the continuing insurgency. It was the frankest admission Mr Blair has yet made about how his religious beliefs influence his actions as Prime Minister, particularly the life and death decisions involved in military action. Mr Blair said he made policy decisions according to his conscience, which is guided by his Christian faith. But he did not go as far as President George W Bush who reportedly claimed that his decision to invade Iraq was "a mission from God". Comment Judgement is coming – Tony Blair is right on that score. Judgement is coming on Britain the Bible makes clear in a number of places. See Isaiah 23:1 - 14 It is interesting that President Bush and now Tony Blair both claim to have been influenced by religious beliefs in regard to the invasion of Iraq. President Bush even said he was on a mission from God. The point is this - leaders of the world are influenced by God. He uses godless men to bring about his judgements. In the most hawkish rhetoric from a senior US official in months, the vice-president, Dick Cheney, said Iran would not be allowed to have nuclear weapons and hinted at the use of force if it pressed ahead with its nuclear programme. "For our part, the United States is keeping all options on the table. We will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.“ he said His remarks to the annual conference of the pro-Israel lobbying group, AIPAC, were a marked change from the diplomatic language over the past year. Comment We really are seeing the nations lining up exactly as prophesied in the scriptures. Russia backing Iran. This is mentioned in Ezekiel 38. In Bible language we read of Gog and Persia. Teheran threatens US Headline Teheran threatens to inflict 'harm and pain' on US over nuclear row - Headline DT March 9 Event Iran issued a chilling threat to inflict "harm and pain" on America yesterday as it headed for confrontation at the United Nations Security Council over its suspected nuclear weapons programme. Teheran's most overt menaces to date were repeated several times at the meeting of the governing board of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Iranian officials declined to spell out precisely what Iran would do. But experts say Iran's options include driving up oil prices, blocking the passage of tankers through the Gulf, stirring more chaos in Iraq, fomenting violence against Israel or promoting terrorist attacks against the West. Iran's threats came as the United States gave warning that Teheran had in the past six months produced enough intermediate uranium compounds to make 10 nuclear bombs if its enrichment programme was not halted. Comment Iran is the modern area of the ancient land of the Medes. We read in Jeremiah that the kings of the Medes are raised up to attack Babylon (modern day Iraq). It is interesting that we have a king of the Medes whose spirit has been raised up. America has accused Iran of sending men into Iraq to help train, arm and fight in Iraq. There have been rumours of Iranian involvement in Iraq since before the 2003 war began. There could well be further destruction in the land of Iraq. Iran will have to go through Iraq on the way through to Israel. Human rights defeat for US Headline Human rights defeat for US Headline – DT March 16 Event America's attempt to derail a new human rights body for the United Nations was foiled in a landslide vote yesterday, with nations as diverse as Britain and Cuba ignoring Washington's plea for rejection. In an unusual display of near-unanimity, the world body voted 170-4 to create a Human Rights Council to replace its discredited predecessor, the Commission on Human Rights. The council's creation has been described as the centrepiece of attempts to reform the UN's archaic machinery and the American No vote is widely seen as a gloomy omen for the new body. Delegates applauded after giant screens in the UN's general assembly showed only America, Israel and two tiny pro-American Pacific island states voting against. Comment America and Israel (were almost) alone out of the entire world in voting against this new human rights body. The motives of Israel and the US voting in this way are not clear. But one thing is clear. Human Rights tend to create anti-Semitism. Human rights say that man has the answer NOT God. They promote godlessness and wickedness. Since the 1789 declaration of the rights of man 2 world wars have been fought. 6 million Jews have been killed. With the complete rejection of the Bible as having any authority at all, anti Jewish feeling increases in the world. The UN and human rights organisations almost always come down against Israel. The evangelical wing of the worldwide Anglican Communion has said that the election of the Rev Bonnie Perry will lead to the "unravelling" of the Church. The chief of Royal Navy personnel said yesterday that it was "unhealthy" that until recently gay sailors had been forced to keep their sexuality secret. Vice-Admiral Adrian Johns revealed the Navy's new attitude towards homosexuals before giving a speech entitled "Reaping the rewards of a gay-friendly workplace." At a conference in London organised by Stonewall, the homosexual rights campaign group, the Second Sea Lord said the Navy was now accommodating gays and lesbians. Comment Tarshish is in trouble. Immorality now pervades every corner of life here in Britain. It is absolutely alarming the rate of descent now into days like Sodom and Gomorrah. Interesting that the NAVY gives a speech like this and then we read below that the NAVY of Britain is going to be broken. Mark Thompson Powerful Catholic laymen in Britain Headline BBC chief is 'most powerful Catholic layman in Britain' Headline DT March 17 Event Mark Thompson, the director general of the BBC, is the most influential Roman Catholic lay person in Britain, according to an analysis by the Catholic weekly The Tablet. Ruth Kelly, the Education Secretary, who has faced criticism for her links with Opus Dei, and Cherie Booth, a successful lawyer and the Prime Minister's wife, are second and third. The magazine, which publishes its list of the 100 top Catholics today, said its analysis demonstrated how accepted Catholics had become in the life of the nation and the establishment. Most of those on the list, which aims to identify those who have the greatest impact on public life by wielding the most influence or power, practise their faith. Comment Protestantism was in effect a rejection of Roman Catholicism. It was a protest against Rome. A rejection of the Pope and all he stood for. And an acceptance of the Bible as the authority. There were many reasons for Britain casting off Rome – not all good. But one of the main ones was as people began to read the Bible in their own language (English) they began to realise the falsehood of the teaching of the “Church”. We see now though in Britain people in very high-up and influential positions who are “promoting” Catholicism. The Lord Jesus highlights this religion out of all religions in Revelation 17 when he compares it to a harlot. A harlot that all the kings of the earth have fallen for. Using the most uncompromising language he has employed to date in dealing with Iran's nuclear threat, Mr Bush said: "I see a threat in Iran. The threat is, of course, their stated objective to destroy our strong ally Israel. "I've made it clear and I'll make it clear again, that we will use military might to protect our ally Israel," Mr Bush said to applause. Comment America is using extremely explicit language here in reference to Iran and Israel. Iran recently threatened to “wipe Israel off the map”. President Bush now tells Iran it will use military might to protect its ally Israel. We cannot fail to see how Israel – one of the smallest countries in the world - is becoming the very centre of the world’s attention. The nations are lining up exactly as prophesied. Iran wanting to destroy Israel. America (a young lion of Britain - the old lion) continues to back Israel. The Bible makes clear that America’s military might will NOT be enough to protect Israel in the coming war. The nations WILL invade Israel and overrun it. After talks in Moscow to discuss Iran's nuclear programme, US envoy Nicholas Burns said other nations should not help Iran, even on civilian projects. The tension between the US and Russia comes despite attempts to present a united front to Iran. (2) Washington has asked Moscow to reconsider selling Iran anti-aircraft missiles as the crisis over its nuclear programme continues. Russia plans to sell Tehran 29 TOR M1 mobile surface-to-air missile defence systems in a deal said to be worth about US $700 million (£392m). "This is not time for business as usual with the Iranian government," a top US state department official said. The US also urged other states like China to review defence sales to Iran. Comment Russia is becoming ever more daring in its antagonism of America. America is becoming ever more alarmed at Russia’s moves in the Middle East. We are looking in effect at the future King of the North (Russia) and the future King of the South (America and UK etc) sparring verbally. One day it will cease to be verbal. It will be military. Asked at the White House if his administration was planning for the possibility of a nuclear strike against Iran's atomic research facilities, Mr Bush said: "All options are on the table." But he added: "We want to solve this issue diplomatically and we're working hard to do so." American officials are reported to be discussing the possibility of nuclear strikes on Iran, fearful that if it were to develop nuclear weapons it could threaten Israel. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's president who has vowed to "wipe Israel off the map", said yesterday that Iran's army was like a "meteorite" that would defeat any attack against the country. Comment As this standoff between Iran and America continues to create increasing tension throughout the world – the oil price continues its inexorable rise. Oil prices hit new highs this week at over $75 per barrel. One of the reasons for the rise (apart from increasing demand) is this situation in Iran. With prices increasing this will effect the economies of the world. As this world is all about money & mammon, the leaders will act if this becomes threatened. We can see how ALL nations have a stake in the Middle East due to the oil that is found there. There is a great spoil in that area. The Queen’s 80th birthday Headline The Queen’s 80th birthday Headline DT April 21 Event The Prince of Wales led the nation yesterday in paying tribute to the Queen, his "darling Mama", on a day of both public and private celebrations to mark her 80th birthday. In a televised broadcast, Prince Charles praised the most "remarkable steadfastness and fortitude" and her "duty and devotion" as Queen on a day that saw more than 15,000 cheering well-wishers line Windsor's High Street during a birthday walkabout. Comment The Queen celebrated her 80th birthday on Friday. She has ruled Britain since 1953. The Queen is also Head of the Commonwealth and Supreme Governor of the Church of England. There is a possibility that the present Queen will one day bow down before Christ. She is Queen of Tarshish (Britain) (See verse below) and she has many presents to give – orbs, sceptres etc that she was given at her coronation as symbols of her authority. Interestingly her name Elizabeth comes from the Hebrew name EliySHEBA. The Queen of SHEBA brought presents to King Solomon. Solomon’s kingdom was a foreshadow of the future kingdom. The number of vessels participating in the show of force — and some of the specific war games they played — were fine-tuned to train for countering long-range missiles even though the exercises were scheduled long before the current threat from North Korea. Led by the U.S. Navy, the countries participating included Japan, South Korea, Chile, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain — the last still viewed as a Pacific naval power in view of its colonial legacy and strong ties to other participants. Flying into the city's international airport so recently put out of action by Israeli bombs, Mr Blair was branded "the biggest criminal and lackey of the US" by angry demonstrators. The Prime Minister, who flew in from Tel Aviv on the final leg of his three-day Middle East peace mission, outraged Arab opinion during the recent conflict between Israel and the Islamic militants of Hizbollah by failing to call for an immediate ceasefire. Heavily-armed troops lined the streets as the convoy carrying Mr Blair and the Lebanese premier, Fouad Siniora, swept towards the city centre. Facing these units are Iranian Revolutionary Guards naval, air and marine units together with the Iranian armed forces on full war preparedness. The US spokesman said the exercise, in which Bahrain, Kuwait, Britain, Canada and others will take part, will demonstrate “our resolve and readiness to act” against nuclear proliferation. Comment Just note the countries involved in this naval exercise!! Bahrain and Kuwait is the area of Dedan spoken of in the Bible. Comment America has poured its military might into the Persian gulf. Three colossal task forces have now arrived in the region. Meanwhile the greatest sea and air armada Europe has ever put together since World War 2 is in place in the Eastern Mediterranean. America is in the Persian Gulf to add huge pressure on Iran as it is very close to Iran’s western shore. America is also able to protect Saudi Arabia and its oil wells as well. In recent weeks Iran has moved large naval and air forces, including shore-to-sea missiles, to this strip of coast for two goals: To break up their dense Persian Gulf concentrations and scatter them across a larger area to diffuse American targeting; and to prevent the entire force being from bottled up in the Persian Gulf . The researchers believe the country's record can be explained by a collapse in family and community life in the UK. Comment What a sad indictment of Britain today. The study also showed that 38% of British 15 year-olds have tried cannabis. It also showed that British teenagers were more immersed in consumerism than American youngsters. What is the reason for the bad behaviour in particular? The researchers concluded – a collapse in family life. Dick Cheney, the US vice-president, began the battle to stop the rising tide of Iranian power with a visit yesterday to Saudi Arabia, America's key oil-producing ally in the Gulf. The move is part of a determined US effort to marshal a force of friendly Sunni regimes against the radical leadership of Shia Iran, which Washington believes is trying to develop a nuclear bomb. Comment This is really remarkable. Look at the green crescent shape on the map. It highlights the Sunni Muslim nations that America is trying to win over. They are based SOUTH of Israel. Meanwhile the Shia Muslim nations of Syria and Iran are being backed and armed by Russia based NORTH of Israel. And so the scene is being set for the final conflict of king of the north v king of the south described in detail in Daniel 11. It also lines up perfectly with Ezekiel 38. Blair made clear to Bush his long-held view, echoed in the report, that any resolution of the Iraq conflict is tied to settling the festering Israeli-Palestinian dispute and reducing tensions across the broader Middle East. Comment It is unprecedented for a serving Prime Minister to be interviewed by police in a corruption inquiry. This is worthy of note for one main reason. Corruption. Tony Blair came to power in 1997 and promised to be whiter than white and remove “sleaze” from politics. And now he is involved in a corruption investigation by the police! He also said the Saudi Arabia is vitally important to Britain in terms of the broader Middle East and helping with Israel-Palestine. So we have a number of prophetical aspects weaving together. Gates was expected this week to approve a request by commanders for a second aircraft carrier and its supporting ships to be stationed within quick sailing distance of Iran by early next year. After meeting Mr Abbas in his presidential compound in Ramallah, the de facto capital of the West Bank, Mr Blair threw his support behind his controversial plan to hold early elections in the Palestinian territories. By supporting the Mr Abbas's strategy of circumventing the democratically elected Hamas government, Mr Blair signalled that his Middle East policy had changed from the time when he saw democracy as the panacea for all regional problems. Mr Blair's policy of promoting democracy throughout the region was one of the main reasons behind his decision to send British troops to end Saddam’s dictatorship in Iraq. Comment We wait to see the outcome of the political crisis in Gaza. Hamas was elected back in January this year. There is nothing in the Palestinian constitution that allows for the President (Mahmoud Abbas) to call for new elections before the 4 year period is up. However Bush and Blair believe that Hamas should not be in power. They believe the Israel v Palestinian problem must be sorted. Therefore new elections must take place. The gamble is that Hamas lose. It appears that democracy is fine as long as the people vote in the right party! The day is coming when democracy will die and the whole world will live under the kingship of Jesus Christ.
