2. 2 Michigan Health Information Network With the Governor’s vision, we have created the MiHIN. When we refer to MiHIN, we are really talking about a collection of projects. Specifically, our roadmap building approach, the deliberations and recommendations from the HIT Commission, the HIT grants program, the MiHIN resource center and the work that is happening throughout the state to build RHIOs.
Now, I will give you the background information for each of these projects and then talk about our vision for the future and the groundwork that is underway.With the Governor’s vision, we have created the MiHIN. Multi-stakeholder collaboration is needed to implement achievable and measurable initiatives in order to show early progress and value
The delivery of health care is local; therefore, health information initiatives at the regional level are critical.
RHIOs must have a self-sustaining business model. Their basis of support should be derived from the demonstrable value that they offer to a number of stakeholders
National standards and policies will be followed where possible
