The Cultural Olympiad: 2008 – 2012 Aug 24th 2008: Olympic Handover Flag Raising Festivals • Upton Water Festival • Young gifted and talented sportsmen and women; the Sing Upton Choir • BBC Hereford and Worcester broadcast live from 1200 – 1500 • Official party included Cllr.Alwyn Davies (Chairman, Worcestershire County Council), Cllr. Sheila Young (Chairman, Malvern Hills District Council), Cllr. Serena Croad, (Leader, Malvern Hills District Council), Cllr. Tim Perry, (Town Mayor, Upton-upon-Severn) • Over 1500 people attended • Zac Purchase was the special guest at the second flag raising event

The Cultural Olympiad: 2008 – 2012 Aug 24th 2008: Olympic Handover Flag Raising Festivals • Redditch Borough Council • Olympic Fun Day for all the Family; Choir • Matthew Daykin, (Commonwealth Games Swimming Medallist) attended • Chinese Lion and Dragon Dance Music; Chinese arts and craft • 100 people attended

  8. The Cultural Olympiad: 2008 – 2012 Aug 24th 2008: Olympic Handover Flag Raising Festivals • Worcester • Event at British Kayak Marathon Championships at Worcester Canoe Club. • Mayor attended • 1,200 in attendance from both rowers and participants

  9. The Cultural Olympiad: 2008 – 2012 Aug 24th 2008: Olympic Handover Flag Raising Festivals • Bromsgrove • Flag raised at Sanders Park as part of large scale sports showcase event • The event was visited by over 650 people
