  1. Search Engine- How it Works?  Every search engine has three main functions- crawling, indexing, and retrieval. Generally, search engines prioritize the pages depending on their Search Engine Optimization (SEO) that also depends on the pages’ architecture, title, content, links, and such components.  Every search engine has three main functions- crawling, indexing, and retrieval. Crawling discovers content; Indexing tracks and stores content, while Retrieval retrieve relevant content when users asks the search engine users. Generally, search engines prioritize the pages depending on their Search Engine Optimization (SEO) that also depends on the pages’ architecture, title, content, links, and such components. Another major function of search engine is ranking that checks users’ search query for thousands of pages to determine the relevance of each one. Search engines value sites with many incoming links because they interpret site popularity as relevant. New web content would be inaccessible to us without the help of search engines. But does anyone know how search engines work? Every search engine has three main functions: • Crawling: to discover content • Indexing: to track and store content  • Retrieval: to retrieve relevant content when users asks the search engine users

  2. Crawling:  Crawling is acquisition of the website data. The tasks include scanning sites and collecting page details like titles, images, keywords, other linked pages, etc. An automated bot, a “spider” visits page after page as soon as possible, using links to the page to find the next page. Web crawlers also visit previous pages once in a while to see if there have been any changes.  Indexing: Indexing occurs when the crawled data is processed and placed in a database. Retrieval:  Retrieval is when the search engine processes with your query and returns the most relevant pages matching the search query. Most search engines differ by their methods of retrieval: they use different criteria to select which pages fit the best with what you want. Ranking is another major function of search engine. Ranking algorithms check your search query for thousands of pages to determine the relevance of each one. Because of their complexity, companies guard their ranking algorithms as patented industry secrets. An improved algorithm results in a better search experience. Primarily, search engines classify sites according to the number of keywords on a page.  Next the concept of link importance comes: search engines value sites with many incoming links because they interpret site popularity as relevant.

  3. Generally, search engines prioritize the pages depending on their Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Here is how you can make your website page search engine optimized. Architecture: You can make your websites easier to be crawled by search engines. This can be achieved through a number of elements, such as how you organise and categorise the content and how websites are linked together. Content: Great content is another great element for SEO. If the website has relevant, reliable, and engaging content that most people searches for, then search engine select those ones. Links: More the people link to a certain website, more the search engines recognize its authority and make its rake increase.  Keywords: Relevant and authentic use of keywords is another great way to come into notice by search engines and find out the right customers for you.  Title: Search engines pay attention to the title tag in the html code of your website, the words between < title></title >, as it probably describes what the website is all about.  Google - How Search Works
