  1. How to Quickly and Effectively Stripe a Parking Lot

  2. Every parking lot has a varied layout that is distinctive in some manner. However, if you apply a few essential principles to whatever lot you come into, you will be able to finish the work quickly and to the finest possible standard.

  3. Have a map handy first! Make sure you are going exactly where you intend to go if you have never been on the lot before. Avoid wasting time, petrol, and money by failing to locate the location you need to be.

  4. Driving the whole parking lot when you first arrive is the best course of action. Even if you have already viewed the lot, it is always a good idea to have the details of what you will need to finish the task fresh in your mind. This helps prevent forgetting to do any painting that was planned.

  5. Find a light pole or other source of light to park by if you are arriving at night. This will keep your equipment visible and prevent thieves in addition to aiding with your vision. Additionally, parking in a spot that necessitates stomping on your freshly painted walls when you depart is bad form.

  6. Set up a system. If you have a helper, be explicit about who is responsible for what. Once you get out of your truck to start unloading equipment, the optimum execution involves no conversation. Sadly, I have only ever enjoyed this luxury with one person. We did not need to discuss it repeatedly, and I did not need to micromanage or hold their hands during the entire process. The key is efficiency.

  7. The sequence of events is also crucial. The objective is to enter and exit as soon as possible. As you move around the parking lot from right to left, paint your blue stencils, the dividing line for any double stalls and then the stripes on all the single stalls. Usually, your dividing line is dry enough to stripe the double stalls once you have finished doing this. Finish off any remaining stencil work. Paint your disability symbol last.

  8. Once the painting is finished, load up and drive through the parking lot to make sure nothing is missing. Or you could buzz about and make sure before loading up if your striping machine has a rider. In either case, do not forget anything. Stop, unpack, and paint it if you see as you are about to leave that you forgot even one line or marker! This is preferable to returning to complete the task. Additionally, integrity is key. Do not economies. It is possible to stripe a parking lot properly and rapidly.

  9. Having your own plan is the most crucial element. Everybody performs their parking lot striping a bit differently, but if you can work these suggestions into your strategy, you will be able to stripe more quickly. Enjoy your stripping!
