Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program Definition: Dual Enrollment • High school students enroll in college-level course work and receive high school and college credit • Excludes developmental coursework
Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program Background: State Funded Dual Enrollment • Established by the Education Reform Act of 1993 (funded between 1994-2001) • Re-established as a pilot program in FY2009 • Stresses accessibility and collaboration • Focus: first-generation college students and STEM • Flexible course delivery and use of funds • System-wide requirements and standards established by committee • Renamed the Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program (CDEP)
