  2. El chaku de vicuña es una practica ancestral que consiste en el encierro, captura, esquila y posterior liberación de vicuñas. Esta practica se hace en forma conjunta.

  3. En tiempos pasados, la vicuña, animal silvestre, fue fundamental para que los pueblos indígenas pudiesen sobrevivir a la Puna. Su carne era utilizada para el consumo y su fibra para la confección de tejidos e hilados.

  4. Actualmente, esta costumbre continua: un grupo de personas rodea a las vicuñas, formando un «cordón humano« para arrearlas hacia corrales. Cada integrante debe estar atento porque si «rompen el cordón«, algunas vicuñas podrían escapar y el trabajo se echaría a perder.
