This will help you interact with your neighbors whom you may not have a mutual language to speak. It also portrays a good picture as you develop interest to know their language and culture. Once you are settled, it is best if you get yourself familiarized with your surroundings. Try get to know if there are people like you around as they may give you a few tips, as they have been there longer. Make friends with the people and keep an open mind. Also, make sure to make a good impression. Be prepared Preparation is the key to success. It is best if you are able to carry some packed food for your first night in the new city or town. You might be too tired or it might be too late to look for food on arrival and thus it is best to carry packed food. It would be unfortunate to hate the place on the first day just because you were comfortable enough. In advance, try get all the addresses you may need as you are in town. The most important one is of the school you will be going to teach. Make sure to get as many addresses as possible to be able to navigate the area with ease.
