Overview of the Boards • Each board is unique from the point of view of their functionality, curriculum, abilities, and standards. but the dilemma of choosing the board of education has always been a challenge for parents. • In India, ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education), CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) are the most popular boards compared to other state boards . But during the admission, we need to analyze which board is better for your child from their point of view. Every child has different aptitude levels and aspirations.
About CBSE • CBSE stands for Central Board of Secondary Education. It was formed on November 3, 1962, and is headquartered in New Delhi, India • It affiliates over 16000 schools in India and about 24 other countries of the world • The affiliation granted to the schools is up to a higher secondary level which includes all KendriyaVidyalayas, all JawaharNavodayaVidyalayas, private schools, and most of the schools approved by central government of India • Most of the Best CBSE School in Jaipur are affiliated by CBSE
CBSE Syllabus • CBSE is very popular board in India. the syllabus has the same throughout the country in CBSE schools and it is easy to find a school even if your parents shift in another city/state • CBSE approves both English and Hindi to cover a broader range of students. the board approves both regular and private students • CBSE syllabus has more emphasis on Science subjects and Mathematics • CBSE offers more talent search examinations and scholarships for students and the volume of the syllabus is less in CBSE board • The syllabus is more suitable for entrance examinations. About ICSE • The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) is an examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, a private board of school education in India • The Council is a non-governmental education board in India up to class 10, and after 10th standard, ICSE becomes ISC (Indian School Certificate) • ICSE is heavy on languages and gives a good choice of subjects. It provides a wider range of subjects including home science, agriculture, fashion design, cookery, etc
ICSE Syllabus • ICSE focuses on the child’s overall growth and has a balanced syllabus • The syllabus is more comprehensive, structured and the aims are to give practical knowledge and build analytical skills in students • The ICSE syllabus is vast giving due importance to all the subjects • ICSE focuses on a detailed study of each subject with an edge over English • CISCE is recognized by many foreign education systems. ICSE certificates are accepted by most of the schools and colleges all around the world. It is recommended for parents those who have to move to different countries.
State Board • Every State Board is recognized by State Government Board • State boards are specific to each State and follow separate syllabus and grading methodology. Every state board has its own educational approach which causes diversity in the syllabus from one state to another state in India • The educational structure, paper pattern and even also the syllabus is not the same compared to one state board to another state board
State Board Syllabus • State board syllabus is designed by the Department of Education of the concerned state government because the syllabus changes for every state of India. • The level of education of state boards is considered easier than CBSE and ICSE boards. • The syllabus is usually limited when compared to other boards. Regional languages and culture have a prominent place in the syllabus. • Some state boards have ordered all their schools to follow NCERT books only which are important for students to prepare for pan India examinations.
