  2. Casella Family Brands was founded in 1969. It began when Filippo and Maria Casella migrated to Australia from Italy in pursuit of living a better life and found a second home in Yenda, New South Wales. The first vintage was released in 1971 and there was no looking back. In 1975 John Casella was designated as the Managing Director. The business flourished and after years of hard work, their efforts finally bore fruit in 2001. This year the first shipment of wines was exported to the United States under the label Yellow Tail wines and was well received with over 1 million cases were sold in a period of 13 months. They only expected 25,000 cases will be sold, the response indeed was phenomenal. These wines are still relished by thousands of people not only in the USA but in other countries as well.

  3. John’s passion for winemaking and love of the land made him expand the business by joining hands with Peter Lehman Wines, a premium Barossa winery. Later, it went on acquiring an award-winning boutique winery, Brand’s Laira of Coonawarra and added more wines in their portfolio by welcoming Baileys of Glenrowan. These regions are Wrattonbully, Clare Valley, Adelaide Hills, Langhorne Creek, Riverina, Barossa Valley, Padthaway, McLaren Vale, King Valley, Glenrowan, Rutherglen and Currency Creek. Besides making exceptional wines, they are committed to the health of the environment. Organic waste is used as fertilizer in the field. They have also eliminated the use of cardboard dividers in the cases by 80%. Re-use of screw caps, label packings and capsules also help. At the Yenda winery, they have the resources through which they can recycle over 160 Olympic sized swimming pools. Also, retain rainwater and use it.
