We noticed his books are colorful and creative.
We noticed the actual pages in the books change shape.
We noticed that he writes and illustrates his own stories.
We noticed his books usually have bugs in them as the main characters.
We noticed he has engaging beginnings that set the mood.
We noticed that books written by Eric Carle have his signature on the front cover whereas if they are only illustrated by him, his name is typed.
8. Wonderings We wonder how he is able to use tissue paper and paint together.
We wonder how he is able to be so creative.
We wonder why Eric Carle decided to become an author since he began as an illustrator.

We made the connection that Bill Peet was a lot like Eric Carle. Both authors started as illustrators first and then became authors themselves. Bill Peet worked for Walt Disney and Eric Carle worked for Bill Martin.
