1. Maintenance Maintenance is becoming one of the critical activities especially in the processing industry due to quality demanded by the end customer, stringent regulatory compliances to be followed, competitive advantage etc. In the present time, technology is playing a major role in improving the overall operational efficiency and mobility is the buzzword to make the solution user friendly and available wherever needed. Existing paper based equipment Maintenance Process is more error prone and time consuming due to errors in locating the right equipment due for calibration. There is no mechanism to ensure the process followed during maintenance is as per defined Standard Operating Process (SOP). Also manual data entry at multiple locations which lack immediate validations is causing severe impact to product quality and process compliance ★ Industry Challenges ● Shop floor maintenance activities are completely paper based. ● Duplication of efforts with paper based notes and then uploading the same to the maintenance system. This also leads to data errors. ● Browsing through multiple screens in SAP system for data entry making it more time consuming ● No mechanism to print the Calibration sticker as soon as the process is complete at the equipment location ● Paper based maintenance result approval increases efforts in document management ● Close follow ups of incidents raised due to calibration failures are not tracked diligently ● Impact on the production quality resulting into financial losses and loosing customer confidence
