Surgical Management of Pancreatic Pseudocysts Following Acute Pancreatitis

A 35-year-old male with a history of chronic alcohol use presented with abdominal pain and was diagnosed with pancreatitis accompanied by fluid collection around the pancreas. Initial treatment was conservative. However, follow-up imaging after six weeks revealed an 8 cm pancreatic pseudocyst. A cystogastrostomy was performed, and the patient was discharged on postoperative day 7 in good condition and is currently doing well.<br><br>

A cystogastrostomy was performed, and the patient was discharged on postoperative day 7 in good condition and is currently doing well.     Patient Pro?le: Age: 35 years Gender: Male History: Chronic alcohol consumption Clinical Presentation: Presented with abdominal pain. Diagnosed with acute pancreatitis with ?uid collection around the pancreas. Initial Management: Treated conservatively for acute pancreatitis. Follow-Up Imaging: Six weeks later, imaging revealed an 8 cm pancreatic pseudocyst. Surgical Intervention: Cystogastrostomy was performed to drain the pseudocyst.
