  2. COMPLETE YOUR ORIENTATION • Thoroughly access the Office of Field Experience website www.shsu.edu/~edu_ofe Level I Field Experience Home Page

  3. Step #1: APPLY TO EDUCATOR PREPARATION PROGRAM (& SUBMIT PAYMENT) Apply on-line through Sam Web Payment ($75.00) by credit card Application is complete after payment

  4. Step #2: ACTIVATE TK20 ACCOUNT (AND SUBMIT PAYMENT) • Activate on Tk20 (https://Tk20.shsu.edu) • Submit payment ($100 plus tax and handling)

  5. Step #3: REGISTER FOR FIELD EXPERIENCE (5 Hours) (Must have applied and submitted payment to Educator Preparation Program) View the tutorial movie “demo”- Observe the deadlines - Registration opens: Monday January 25 (9:00 pm) Registration closes: Tuesday February 2 (9:00 pm)

  6. Standards of Professional Conduct • Attendance/Punctuality • Be Early • Professional Attitude • Keep a positive attitude • Professional Communication • Ethical Behavior • Please submit this form on Tk20.

  7. Step #4: BE PROFESSIONAL • Communicate with campus in advance • Ask for and follow FACULTY Dress Code • Always present yourself as a professional • Be early • Have SHSU ID, F.E. Badge, Driver’s License • Sign in at front office • Some districts (Willis ISD) require registering at the district office before first field experience • Cy-Fair ISD requires obtaining an authorization form from the Office of Field Experience prior to observation.

  8. Step #5: COMPLETE FIELD EXPERIENCE (5 hours) • Complete field experience as scheduled • See calendar/handout for deadlines • Pay attention to notes on the registration screen • School officials sign documentation • Either school principal or classroom teacher

  9. Absences/Re-Scheduling • Absences/re-scheduling are strongly discouraged. • If absence is legitimate we require documentation (doctor’s note, car repair invoice) • Contact the campus in advance of absence • Contact the Office of Field Experience to discuss the possibility of re-scheduling.

  11. STEP # 7: COMPLETE ON-LINE FIELD EXPERIENCE PROFILE through SamWeb View the tutorial movie “demo”

  13. Step # 8: SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION TO INSTRUCTOR • Make copies for yourself • Submit original documentation log and attach the AEIS reports (if required) to instructor.
