Stress in Albanian Language • is supposed to be dynamic, constant in the paradigm, and striving for the penultimate syllable, but: 1. definite and indefinite forms of the nouns fushë – fusha, qytet – qyteti 2. the addition of different grammatical indices fushë > fusha > fushave 3. Not stressed auxiliary verbs, pronouns, articles
a • Falling of ë before the vowel: Këndo me rrall' e dal nga dal – Sing for me rare and slowly (Asdreni) or O gjuhë-e shentëruar, or mall me shpirtin plot – O what a saint language, o the soul full of sadness (Poradeci) • Falling of ë before the consonant: vashë, që her’ mëmbushtingazëllim // eher' trishtimemallmë derdhnë gji?- My girl, that fills me sometimes with the happiness, but sometimes brings me sadness in my heart (Ll.Siliqi)

c • Using of ë in rhyme purposes: Ex. from J.Bllaci
ок-тя-брь Ок-тябрь уж нас-ту-пил (Pushkin) – 6 syllables Ок-тя-брь; мо-ре по-ут-ру (Brodskij) – 8 syllables Ju. Lotman wrote: “In the poetic speech where is relevent the syllabical principle (counting of the syllables), the syllable is understood only by the rhythmical conditions”.
