Advice will be given how to fill any academic gaps
If unsure call 01438 765672. You may need to complete Form IPA for a formal assessment of you academic qualifications Under UK SPEC the Engineering Council lay down requirements for educational qualifications. All engineering institutions which are able to qualify individuals are governed by these requirements (first click link takes you through to requirements)
As we are all different, one statement regarding educational assessment may not be relevant to everyone in this room. There are many ways of topping up any gaps in an academic profile. (second click link takes you through to some suggested ways to top up (CEng orientated) and mentions alternative routes such as Technical Report Route (TRR). NB – TRR is only available by Committee invitation once individual backgrounds are known)
If you feel you do not have the relevant qualifications to pursue professional registration or you do not have a degree in engineering or have a non-UK degree that has not been accredited by the IET or other qualifications, you may need to complete Form IPA for us to undertake an Individual Profile Assessment. We will assess your qualification against a Engineering Council bench marks. It is best to get this done as soon as you decide you want to work towards professional registration. If you feel you may need to go along this route please come and talk to me after the presentation.
