Abstract As the number of fire accidents are increasing day by day, and in order to prevent such accidents here came up with Home Automation using Infra-Red(IR) sensor. It is a multi-functional project which works as not only as fire detector but also as:- • 1. Fire Detector/ Fire Alarm • 2. Smoke Detector • 3. Remote Tester • 4. Motion Detector • IR Sensor is the heart of the sensitive alarm system as it sense the flames/light of a wavelength of 760nm to 1100nm.
MAIN COMPONENTS USED:- The main functional components used in the module are IR sensor Buzzer Resistor P-N-P Transistor 5Volt Battery connecting Wires, etc.
IR Sesnsor • An IR sensor is a device which detects IR radiation falling on it. • It is used to detect the presence of fire or other infrared source. • An IR LED is also known as IR Transmitter, it is a special purpose LED that transmits infrared rays in the range of 760nm wavelength. Such LEDs are usually made of gallium arsenide or aluminium gallium arsenide. They along with IR receivers, are commonly used as sensors. • Features Of IR Sensor:- • Small and compact in size • Adjustable threshold value • 2 state binary output ( logic high and low) • Easy mounting with a screw hole
Buzzer Alarm This is also based on Direct incidence of radiation on the photodiode. It is a kind of device that converts audio model into sound signals. It is usually powered by DC voltage. Fire alarm system generally uses Piezo-Buzzer.
